“No Time To Die” is the theme song of the upcoming James Bond film of the same name, and was written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell, who produces all of Eilish’s tracks.
“No Time To Die” was recorded in Eilish and O’Connell’s bedroom studio, and Eilish is the youngest artist in history to record and write a James Bond theme song, at the tender age of 18. In an interview in January 2020, Eilish spoke about the creation of the song to Variety magazine: “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.” Eilish’s co-writer and producer as well as brother, Finneas O’Connell also spoke in the interview, adding: “Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live and Let Die. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.”
Since the track was just released, there is currently no official music video. However, the official audio upload on YouTube that was uploaded yesterday, has over 5.3 million views and 616 thousand likes – as well as currently holding the #1 spot on the “Trending” tab on YouTube.
