“Oxytocin” is the fifth track from the critically acclaimed album “Happier Than Ever” by American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish. The song is a dark electropop track that discusses sexual tension and acts, as well as outside opinion.
Speaking to Spotify, Eilish broke down each song for listeners, and revealed her thoughts on “Oxytocin“:
“Oxytocin” is a fun one. That’s probably one of my favorites. We had all these songs and I was like, the only thing we’re missing is the song that’s purposefully gonna be insane live. And we did “Oxytocin.” Oh, my God, it was the most satisfying thing in the world. We would stand up and jump around and see what felt right. I was also just going through crazy feelings at the time too. You can understand those if you listen to the lyrics.”
The singer revealed in her Instagram stories that she related the colours dark brown and red to “Oxytocin“. The official lyric video for the song was uploaded to Eilish‘s YouTube channel on the 30th July 2021. As of the 21st August 2021, the video has over 3.8 million views and well over 277 thousand likes.
