“I Didn’t Change My Number” is the second track from American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish and her second studio album “Happier Than Ever“, which was released via Darkroom Records and Interscope Records on the 30th July 2021.
“I Didn’t Change My Number” is an electronic inspired pop song that sees Eilish rant about her new found confidence in herself and her instincts, recalling a past relationship in which her lover did not take her seriously. Speaking to Spotify, the singer had this to say about the track:
“‘I Didn’t Change My Number’… I love this song so much. It’s all about ‘you can’t get me anymore’ where it’s like you know what? I don’t have sympathy for you anymore y’know? You got me! You got me at first but I don’t care now. And it’s really that and that only. And kinda just your last straw and being like ‘I am confident in this being my last straw.’ Y’know don’t get me mad cause I will scream.”
In an Instagram story where fans asked Eilish questions, Eilish revealed that she relates the colours dark brown and red to depict “I Didn’t Change My Number“. Eilish performed the song live BBC Radio 1 and their Live Lounge segment on the 5th August 2021.
As of late August 2021, the official lyric video had over 2.5 million views and almost 165 thousand likes.
