“bitches broken hearts” was one of Eilish’s releases in 2017. First released to her Soundcloud page in November of 2015, the track was never released in a body of work but rather as a single (except on the Japanese import of Eilish’s 2017 album “don’t smile at me”.
The track was written not by just Eilish and her brother and producer Finneas, but also Emmit Fenn, who also produced the track and provided the backing vocals. In the track, the narrator is calling out a previous lover who pretends that they do not think or speak about the narrator, who seems to taunt them of this fact in the chorus:
“You can pretend you don’t miss me (Me)
You can pretend you don’t care
All you wanna do is kiss me (Me)
Oh, what a shame, I’m not there
You can pretend you don’t miss me (Me)
You can pretend you don’t care
All you wanna do is kiss me (Me)
Well, what a shame, I’m not there”
The rest of the track’s verses are mainly the narrator telling the ex-lover that they know that they need them, and how they are exciting but bad together:
“Everybody knows
You and I are are suicide and stolen art (art)”
The narrator then implies that their ex-lover loves and leaves easily:
“Pretty mama sews,
Stitches into all your bitches broken hearts”
The track ends with the narrator being blunt about the fact that they will never get back with their previous lover, as neither were right forever one another, however for the narrator “being lovely fits me, and you were made for beginning, “stay”, impling that their ex-lover will never be over them.
Since this wasn’t an official single release from Eilish, there is only an audio video available for the track on Eilish’s YouTube channel. As of July 2019, it has over 23 million views and almost 400,000 likes.
