“Need To Know” is the 5th track from Doja Cat’s third studio album “Planet Her”, which was released through Kemosabe Records and RCA Records on the 25th June 2021.
“Need To Know” is an R&B song with a prominent trap beat throughout and sees Doja Cat expressing her desire to be intimate with someone, as well as her past sexual history. The song is forward, brilliant and catchy with Doja Cat’s honest lyrics.
The music video was released alongside the single on the 11th of June 2021. Directed by duo Miles & AJ with support from their production company SixTwentySix Productions, the video shows a futuristic city where a blue-tinted alien version of Doja Cat and fellow alien friends (played by Canadian musician Grimes, American actress Ryan Destiny, and actresses Jazelle Straka-Braxton and Josephine Pearl Leewhich) head out for the night to an underground club. As of the 22nd July 2021, the video had a total of 37.1 million views with 1.2 million likes.
