Love Yourself

Justin Bieber

Album Purpose

Story of Song

A girl took advantage of Justin Bieber’s celebrity status to get into clubs! But there’s a lot more to it. Obviously the song is about a previous relationship and Justin didn’t deny it. In a phone call with (On Air with Ryan Seacrest) Justin said: “It’s definitely about someone in my past, someone who I don’t want to put on blast. It’s cool because so many people can resonate with that because how many women do we bring back that mom doesn’t really necessarily like?” About co-writing with Ed Sheeran, Justin said: “We wrote a song together and basically it’s one of my favorites on the album. It’s just me and a guitar and basically that’s how I started. I started playing on the street with a guitar and so it’s cool to go back to my roots.”
