“enough for you” is the seventh track on Olivia Rodrigo’s debut studio album “SOUR”, which was released on the 21st May 2021 through Geffen Records, and was written and produced by Rodrigo as well as Dan Nigro co-producing the song.
Speaking to YouTube release about the bedroom-pop song that discusses feeling worthy enough in relationships, as well as trying to deal with her own insecurities, however the end of the song sees Rodrigo realise that she will no longer be the heartbroken person in the relationship, but her partner will be. Speaking to YouTube RELEASED, Rodrigo opened up about the inspiration behind the song:
“I wrote “enough for you” entirely by myself which I’m very proud of. I wrote it literally on my bedroom floor. I actually was on “breakup” TikTok for a while, which is really funny. I was literally scrolling through TikTok and I found this really hopeful breakup video. It’s so embarrassing that this inspired this really emotional song, but I really was very inspired by this TikTok.”
The audio video was released via Rodrigo’s YouTube channel on the 21st May 2021, and in less than 5 days, the video has over 3 million views and almost 200 thousand likes.
