But Daddy I Love Him

Taylor Swift

Album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

“But Daddy I Love Him” is the sixth song from Taylor Swift’s 2024 album “THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT”, released through the Universal Music Group.

The folk rock track sees Swift create a character that is witty and takes pleasure in creating scandals in regards to her love life. The song is a metaphor for Swift’s very public love life that is constantly scrutinised and commented on. The title “But Daddy I Love Him” could refer to the public (“daddy”) being critical of who Swift is dating, but Swift not caring as she loves her partner and knows who they are.

The lyric video was uploaded to Taylor Swift’s YouTube channel on the 20th April 2024.
