“right where you left me” features as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album, “evermore”. The original album was released on the 11th December 2020, with the deluxe edition with two bonus tracks being released on the 7th January 2021. As with all songs on the “evermore” album, the tracks were all written by both Swift and Dessner, or separately.
“right where you left me” is an acoustic guitar indie track that shows a lover still stuck in time, thinking of their past partner all the time. The song provides images of a lover sitting on their own in a restaurant, their appearance still the same while their past partner moves forward in life, and in time.
The lyric video was uploaded to Swift’s YouTube channel on the 7th January 2021. In less than one week, the video has 2.1 million views with 177 thousand likes.
