“mirrorball” is the sixth track from American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and her eighth studio album “folklore”, which was released earlier this year in July 2020. Produced and written by Taylor Swift and singer, songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff, “mirrorball” is a folk-tinged dreamy pop song featuring a pedal steel and a twangy guitar.
“mirrorball” sees Swift using the metaphor of a disco ball and the shattered glass to reflect all the personalities that she shows to her fans, her lovers and to the general public. The track also delves into the topic of the personal freedoms an individual may have to give up in order to pursue a career that requires them to be in the public eye.
There is currently no official music video for the track, however an official lyric video for “mirrorball” was uploaded to Swift’s YouTube channel in July 2020. As of late September 2020, the video has 6.3 million views and 151 thousand likes.
