“happier” is the eighth tracks from Olivia Rodrigo’s debut studio album “SOUR” which was released on the 21st May 2021 through Geffen Records. “happier” deals with the concept of heartbreak and moving on, and was written by Rodrigo and produced by Rodrigo’s long-time collaborator Dan Nigro.
“happier” sees Rodrigo wish her past lover happiness in their new relationship, however hopes that they are not happier than when they were with her. Rodrigo first teased the song in January 2020, posting an acoustic snippet of the song on Instagram with the caption “she do be writing doe. ‘happier’ by me!”
The audio video for “happier” can be found on Rodrigo’s YouTube channel, and was uploaded on the 21st May 2021. In less than 5 days, the video has received over 3.1 million views and over 268 thousand likes.
