Butter

“Butter” is the latest release from South Korean boyband BTS, and is a dance-pop/EDM song about pure and innocent love, and showcases each member of BTS sonic talents as well as their own confessions about love. The lyrics were written by Jenna Andrews, Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, RM, Alex Bilowiz, Sebestian Garcia and Ron Perry, and was produced by Grimaldi, Kirk and Perry.

“Butter” is upbeat and positive, much like BTS songs. Speaking to Apple Music, BTS member RM spoke about the song:

“[the band] never expected to release another single, but the virus is getting longer and longer so we thought we need another summer song. We thought we needed another summer number, and Butter was perfectly fit for that. And now we’re here”. The track is definitely on its way to being a summer anthem.

The music video for “Butter” was released on the same day as the single via BTS’ Label HYBE LABELS and was directed by Yong Seok Choi. The video shows the group dancing in suits in a black and white filter, which then leads to the group being in colourful setting such as a baskbetball court, a conference and a brightly-lit lift. In only 2 days, the video has received over 161 million views and 14 million likes.
