“Babylon” is the last track from Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album “Chromatica”, which was released on the 29th May 2020. “Babylon” was written by Lady Gaga, BloodPop and Burns, with both BloodPop and Burns producing the track alongside Rice and Tchami.
“Babylon” is a ‘90’s house track featuring the sounds of disco. The song is titled after the ancient city Babylon, which appears throughout Mesopotamian history, as well as the bible. However, “Babylon” also discusses the toxicity of gossip and rumours, telling people to “Talk it out”, as well as using Babylon to mean “babble on”, a phrase used when someone talks endlessly.
There is no music video for the track, however the official audio is on Lady Gaga’s YouTube channel, and was uploaded in May 2020. As of late July 2020, the video has received 3.3 million views and 85 thousand likes.
