Coming Up Roses

“Coming Up Roses” is a song by English singer-songwriter Harry Styles from his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., released on 6 March 2026. The song was written solely by Styles, produced by Kid Harpoon, and features orchestral arrangements by Jules Buckley.

Harry Styles explained that Coming Up Roses is about appreciating a relationship for what it is, even if it is not destined to last forever. Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Styles revealed that he originally began writing the song in December 2025 as a Christmas song. After writing the opening lyrics, “Tell me your fears / I’ve turned back the clocks, it’s that time of year,” he abandoned the festive concept and developed it into a song about love and acceptance.

Unlike much of Harry Styles’ catalogue, Coming Up Roses was written entirely by Styles. The song was produced by longtime collaborator Kid Harpoon and recorded between 2024 and June 2025 at Abbey Road Studios and RAK Studios in London, as well as Hansa Studios in Berlin. Jules Buckley arranged the orchestral parts performed by a 39-piece orchestra.

The song received largely positive reviews from music critics following the release of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. Reviewers praised the orchestral arrangement, Styles’ vocal performance and the emotional restraint of the song. The Independent described it as “beautifully arranged” and highlighted one of Styles’ strongest vocal performances, while AllMusic called it “gorgeous” and praised Jules Buckley’s orchestral arrangement. Classic Pop also commended its lush orchestration.

Some reviews were more mixed. Consequence suggested the instrumentation differed from the rest of the album, while musicOMH felt the orchestration was stronger than the song itself. Overall, the track was regarded as one of the album’s standout ballads.
