“The Black Dog” is the seventeenth track from Taylor Swift’s 2024 album “THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT”which was released in April 2024 through Republic Records and Taylor Swift.

The melancholic ballad sees Swift reminisce on a failed relationship, referencing a pub called “The Black Dog” the two used to frequent. Swift reveals that her ex forgets to turn their location off, and she seems them in The Black Dog one day. Swift is upset that her ex can move on so quick, and wishes for them to feel the pain of her heartbreak forever. Fans have speculated that the song is about Swift’s ex British actor Joe Alwyn and that the pub is a real pub that is located in Vauxhall in London.
