“Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight” is one of American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey (real name Lizzy Grant) many unreleased songs, and was leaked in April 2014, but believed to have been recorded for her 2014 album, “Ultraviolence”.
Before the song officially leaked, two snippets of “Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight” were released in March 2014 and early April. The song draws heavily from disco influences, making the track a different sound to what Del Rey normally releases. Despite Del Rey and her team’s best efforts, the song has been reuploaded multiple times despite it being removed from the internet multiple times. In a tweet in 2014 (which has since been deleted) Del Rey stated that “Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight” was originally intended for another artist.
There is no official music video for “Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight” as the song was never released as a single. A fan made music video was uploaded to YouTube in August 2015 for the track, by a user named “sailorcameron”. It features black and white clips of the moon, trees and people walking. As of February 2020, the video has over 1 million views and 32 thousand likes.
