“Love” is the opening track from American singer and writer Lana Del Rey (Lizzy Grant) and her 2017 album, “Lust for Life”. Written by Del Rey, Benjamin Levin (known as Benny Blanco), Emile Haynie and Rick Nowels, with production done by the songwriters with the addition of Kieron Menzies.

“Love” is Del Rey’s ode to the youngsters of this generation who are in love and have their whole life ahead of them. The track follows the same themes as many other Del Rey songs, relating back to this idea of the perfect life, and more specifically the “American Dream”. In a post on Instagram, Del Rey had this to say about the song: “I wrote up there, it really does come down to love and the intentions behind the music. That’s why this is the perfect first single, because this one is for you and I luv you.”

The music video was released on the 20th February 2017 and was directed by Rich Lee. The msusic video is filmed in black and wwhite, and shows Del Rey singing in front of a small audience with flowers in her hair, with interlapping shots of young couples in love at the beach, in their cars and walking. The video also features visuals of Del Rey on the moon with her band. As of March 2020, the video has 167.7 million views with over 1.6 million likes. On Spotify, the track has 186.3 million global streams.
