I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do

ABBA

Album ABBA

“I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” was the second single from ABBA and their self-titled third studio album released in April 1975. The song was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus & Stig Anderson, and produced by Ulvaeus and Andersson.

“I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” was ABBA’s next worldwide hit after “Waterloo”. The song is in an ode to a lover, expressing their wedding vows “I do, I do, I do, I do”. “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” was inspired by the European schlager music of the 1950’s, as well as the sounds of 50’s American orchestra leader Billy Vaughn and his saxophone sounds.

The music video for “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” was released in 1975 and directed by Lasse Hallström. It features ABBA members singing angelically to the camera, while lit up. The video was uploaded to YouTube in October 2009, and currently has 17.4 million views and 56 thousand likes.
