Voulez-Vous

ABBA

Album Voulez-Vous

“Voulez-Vous” is one of the tracks from ABBA’s 1979 album of the same name. Written and produced by members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, “Voulez-Vous” is a disco track which translates to “what do you want?”.

“Voulez-Vous” was written by Ulvaeus and Andersson while on a songwriting trip to the Bahamas. Since it was close to Miami, the group ended up recording some parts of the backing vocal at Criteria Studios in Miami, with members of the disco group Foxy. “Voulez-Vous” is sung as a question to a potential lover, one whom the narrator spots across a room. The track is also the only song to ever be recorded by ABBA outside Sweden.

The music video was directed by Lasse Hallström and shows the group performing the song on a stage with red lights. Since its upload to the ABBA YouTube channel in October 2009, the video has 40.4 million views and 145 thousand likes.

“Voulez-Vous” is translated into: “would you like to? or “do you want”
No backing vocals were recorded in Miami, just parts of the backing track……
All vocals ever were recorded ONLY by the four members of abba except “i have a dream” with the cildren choir.
