“I Still Have Faith In You” is the lead single from iconic Swedish pop group ABBA and their upcoming ninth studio album (and first release in 40 years) titled “Voyage“, which is due to be released on the 5th November 2021 through Polar Records and Universal Records.
The power ballad is reminiscent of early ABBA and their distinct catchy lyrics and sound. ABBA had unofficially broken up in 1982, so their comeback has been awaited by hardcore fans for decades. In July 2008, ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus told The Sunday Telegraph: “We [ABBA] will never appear onstage agin. There is simply no motivation to re-group.” “I Still Have Faith In You” has been described as a tribute to the group’s friendship and their strong bond which has survived trauma, divorce and heartbreak.
The music video for “I Still Have Faith In You” was released alongside the single on the 2nd September 2021 via ABBA‘s official YouTube channel. Directed by Syhnola, the video features archived footage of the band on tour, music videos, meet and greets and bloopers, as well as an appearance from the “ABBAtars”, the digital avatars of ABBA that will appear during concerts and in some music videos. In its first 24 hours of being uploaded, the video had gained over 4.4 million views in its first 24 hours, and even 5 days after its release, it was still #1 on YouTube’s trending page for the music category.
