“Only Time Makes It Human” is the latest single from American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist King Princess. The track is a new-wave dance-pop genre, written by King Princess and Nick Long, with production done by King Princess and Mike Malchikoff.

“Only Time Makes It Human” is a song dedicated to an ex-lover that King Princess cannot shake and feels as if all their music is about them. The lyrics “Whoo, and I’ll keep on selling all my problems / And she’ll be the one who buys them / Whoo, all of her love became an album / And I’m still the one who’s crying”, could be a reference to King Princess’ previous partner Amandla Stenberg, who King Princess was with for over two years. The title of the track is also a reference to how time is the greatest healer.

The music video for “Only Time Makes It Human” was directed by King Princess’ girlfriend Quinn Wilson, who is also singer Lizzo’s creative director. The video was uploaded to YouTube on the 16th October 2020. The video features two versions of King Princess, an animated version and the human version, where we are shown the human King Princess stuck in a TV that animated King Princess stares at while she cries. The animation was done by Pastelae, and the video currently has 321,000+ views and over 14 thousand likes.
