Without Me

Eminem

Album The Eminem Show

This tackling disco remarks the return of Eminem and his intentions to save the world from boring music with him away. It is one of his most successful tracks.
The opening lines (two trailer park girls go round the outside) came from an Appalachian square dance song called “Buffalo Gals” and mocks underground artist Canibus. Eminem takes shots at his critics, such as former Vice-President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne, The FCC, Chris Kirkpatrick from NSYNC, Limp Bizket and Moby. The line “Nobody listens to Techno” became a popular sample between the Techno fans and was made into a song under the alias Size DDD (Deep Dish Danny). During the Reddit AMA, Moby said about him being mentioned in the song: “he gave me some amazing free publicity” he added that he does hate Eminem: “I think apart from his misogyny and homophobia he’s an amazingly talented rapper. It’s amazing to me that he’s had such a long and successful career. So kudos to him.”
In the video Eminem and Dr. Dre appear as Batman and Robin, sent to save the world.
