“Speak Now” is the fourth track from American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and her third studio album of the same name, which was released in October 2010 through Big Machine Records.
The country pop song details a protagonist interrupting a wedding in order to win back a former lover. The song itself is witty and fairly funny, a very different lyrical style than Swift often goes for, creating a humorous and catchy track. The song is rumoured to be inspired by front woman Hayley Williams of Paramore, who attended the wedding of ex-lover and ex-bandmate Josh Farro in April 2010.
The official audio video for “Speak Now” was uploaded to Swift’s official YouTube channel on the 24th July 2018. As of the 20th June 2023, the video had 9.6 million views.
“Speak Now” is certified Gold in Australia and the US.
