“Kill Bill” is the second track from American singer-songwriter-rapper SZA and her highly anticipated second studio album: “SOS”. Released on the 9th December 2022 through Top Dawg and RCA Records, “SOS” has been a long time coming, with SZA’s debut album being released 5 years ago in 2017.
“Kill Bill” is a pop-R&B track that takes its title from the iconic 2003 film from Quentin Tarantino. The track sees SZA expose her deepest and darkest desires: to kill her ex partner and then his girlfriend, as she would rather be in jail than be alone. The track begins by SZA attempting to resolve these feelings by visiting a therapist, however that ultimately fails as at the end of the song, it’s revealed that SZA has committed double homicide and ends up in jail. The song’s title does play a role in the song’s story, as the premise of “Kill Bill: Volume 1” is a tale about revenge – a female assassin on a mission to kill her ex-boyfriend who wronged her.
The lyric video for “Kill Bill” was released on the 12th December 2022 via SZA’s official YouTube channel. As of the 16th December 2022, the video had a total of a million views.
