“Hey Stephen (Taylor’s Version)” is the fourth song from Swift’s re-recording of her 2008 album “Fearless“, which was originally released through Big Machine Records, but re-released in April 2021 through Republic Records. Swift decided to re-release her first set of albums from Big Machine Records after a very public dispute between the singer and the label about the mastership of her first six albums.
“Hey Stephen (Taylor’s Version)” is the fourth track on the re-release of the album and the tenth on the original. In 2008 (the year of the release of the original track) The country pop song was about a crush Swift had on a musician called Stephen B. Liles who was from the country music duo Love And Theft (who were the opening act at Swift’s Fearless Tour in 2008). Swift reveals her lust for Stephen, asking him whether he feels the same, if he’s thought about her and his looks.
“Hey Stephen (Taylor’s Version)” has an official lyric video that was uploaded to Swift’s YouTube on the 9th April 2021, and as of late December 2021, the video has received a total of 3.9 million views.
