“gold rush” is the third track from American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift and her ninth album “evermore”, which was released in December 2020 through Repiblic Records. “gold rush” was written and produced by Swift and producer Jack Antonoff.
“gold rush” is the most pop-py song on the mainly indie album, with the inclusion of horns, violins and drums as the song slowly amps up its tempo. The song itself is about the narrator’s daydream that references the Califorina Gold Rush. The song also deals with issues of jealousy and insecurity towards an attractive person whom the narrator believes to have had an easy life due to their looks.
There is currently no music video for “gold rush”, but there is a official lyric video that was uploaded to Swift’s YouTube channel on the 11th December 2020. The video currently has 4.6 million views and over 156 thousand likes.
