Diamonds

Sam Smith

Album Love Goes

“Diamonds” is the latest single from British singer Sam Smith and their upcoming third studio album “Love Goes”, which is due to be released on the 30th October 2020. “Diamonds” was written by Sam Smith, Shellback and OzGo, with Shellback and OzGo producing the song.

“Diamonds” is an upbeat electro-pop song where Smith wishes an ex-partner well despite knowing that they were only together because they were interested in the fame and money. In a social media post, Smith announced the release date of “Love Goes” and its cover art, with Smith stating: “The last two years have been the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically. Every time I went into the studio I promised myself I would shoot for the stars and have no limitations.”

The music video “Diamonds” was released via YouTube on the 18th September 2020 and was directed by Luke Monaghan. The video shows Smith dancing in a dark room on the floor and also being rained on in a large dark studio. As of early October 2020, the video has 12.7 million views and almost 580 thousand likes.
