“cardigan” is the second track from American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and her eighth studio album “folklore”, which was released on the 27th July 2020. “cardigan” was written by Swift and Aaron Dessner, with Dessner producing the song.

“cardigan” is a song about a love triangle as well as an old love. According to E! News, Swift told her fans that the track was about “”a lost romance and why young love is often fixed so permanently within our memories”.

The music video for “cardigan” was released alongside the track on the same day. The video was directed and produced by Swift and shows her in a cabin in the woods playing the piano, getting carried away with dark water and then returns to her cabin at the end of the video wearing a cardigan. In less than one week, the video gathered almost 35 million views, and 1.5 million likes.
