“Break Up Song” is the most recent single from British girl group “Little Mix” and was released on the 27th March 2020 as part of their upcoming sixth studio album. Band members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall wrote the track with Frank Nobel, as well as the track’s producers Kamille (real name Camille Angelina Purcell) and Goldfingers.
According to an interview with Gay Times, group member Jade Thirlwall stated that the group wrote the track more than a year prior to its release, drawing from 1980’s pop music and themes of nostalgia. “Break Up Song”, as its title suggests, is about forgetting all your love troubles and moving on.
There is currently no music video for the track, but the official lyrics video for “Break Up Song” was posted on the Little Mix’s YouTube channel on the 27th March 2020, and currently has 3.7 million views with over 205 thousand likes.
