WOMAN’S WORLD

“WOMAN’S WORLD” is the lead single from American singer Katy Perry’s seventh album “143”, which will be released sometime in September 2024 through Capitol Records.

“WOMAN’S WORLD” is a bubblegum pop song where Perry reflects on the power of the divine feminine, sisterhood and the overall strength of women. However, the song was met with a lot of backlash due the song being partly written and partly produced by Dr.Luke, who singer Kesha had previously worked with and made sexual harassment allegations against him. Many users online claimed that Perry was attempting to make a “feminist track”, but stated that her choice of producer couldn’t be “further from a feminist choice”. Perry has yet to make a statement regarding her decision to work with Dr.Luke.

The track was met with polarising reviews, with many critics stating the song was one dimensional and had “missed the mark” with its sound and commenting on Perry working with Dr.Luke. Others praised the song, stating that it felt like a nostalgic dance pop track that one would hear back in 2010.

The music video was released on the 12th Jul 2024 and was directed by Charlotte Rutherford.
