“Sucker” was the first single from the brother band Jonas Brothers in six years. It is the opening track from their 2019 album “Happiness Begins”. The group co-wrote the track with Louis Bell, Homer Steinweiss, Mustafa Ahmed, and its producers Ryan Tedder and Frank Dukes.

The track is a narrative on infatuation and how they would go to great lengths for their lovers or partners. A few days after the release of the song, indie band Portugal. The Man and fans alike criticised the similarity between PTM’s “Feel It Still” and “Sucker”. On the 4th March 2019, PTM tweeted the following statement in regards to the issue: “To be fair, the chorus of Feel It Still sounds very similar to Please Mister Postman by the Marvellettes… Which we respectfully cleared and thanked them for every chance we got. As one does. @jonasbrothers”.

The music video was directed by Anthony Mandler, and was released on the same day as the song. It features the brothers and their significant others; Danielle Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sophie Jonas (previously Sophie Turner), dancing around Hatfield House in the UK. As of January 2020, the video has over 242.7 million views and almost 5.4 million likes.

Chart Rankings, Certifications & Awards: “Sucker” was very well received by the public, charting at #1 in the weekly charts in Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovakia and the US. The track also charted in the top 10 in Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia and Slovenia. “Sucker” is certified 4x Platinum in Canada, 3x Platinum in Australia, 2x in Mexico and the US, Platinum in Belgium, Denmark, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK; it is also certified Gold in France and Germany. The music video won Video of the Year at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
