Never Worn White

“Never Worn White” is American singer and song-writer Katy Perry’s first release of 2020, and the fourth single from her upcoming fifth studio album.

Written by Perry, Johan Carlsson (who also produced the song), John Ryan and Jacob Kasher Hindlin, “Never Worn White” is a wedding-themed ballad about Perry longing to have a long-lasting and genuine relationship. This could be a nod to Perry’s engagement with Orlando Bloom, which she shared with the world via her Instagram on the 15th February 2019, just one day after Valentine’s Day.

The music video for “Never Worn White” was released alongside the song, on the 5th March 2020 on YouTube, with direction done by J.A.C.K. Perry is shown in a room full of flowers and water, wearing a white dress with a window showing out to a beautiful sky. At the end of the video, Perry is shown cradling her stomach, officially announcing her pregnancy with her fiancé Orlando Bloom. In its first 24 hours, the video received 10.4 million views. In less than 2 weeks, the video has almost 20 million views with 1.1 million likes.
