LIFETIMES

Katy Perry

Album LIFETIMES (Single)

“LIFETIMES” is the second single from Katy Perry’s seventh album “143”. The track was released on the 8th August 2024 through Capitol Records.

The dance track sees Perry express how she will have have love for an unnamed individual for lifetimes beyond this one. It was later revealed that song was about Perry’s daughter Daisy Dove Bloom:

“It is funny how sometimes you’re looking for your soulmate in a partner. […] For me it came in the form of Daisy. I wrote ‘Lifetimes’ about her. Every night, before we go to sleep, I say, ‘I love you,’ and then I ask, ‘Will you find me in every lifetime?’ and she says, ‘Yes’.”

– Katy Perry, via Bustle & People

The song was produced and written with the controversial Dr. Luke, whom singer Kesha had accused of sexual harassment years ago. Perry’s “143” album has been met with a large amount of backlash due to her choice to work with Dr. Luke. Many critics have also said that Perry’s new era has already “flopped” – partially due to whom she has chosen to create music with.

The music video was released alongside the single and was directed by Stillz.
