“For My Hand” is the second single and the 13th song from Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy’s sixth studio album: “Love, Damini”. Released in July 2022 via Atlantic Records, the afrobeats song featured English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, making this the artists second collaboration together.
The song was written by Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran and Richard Isong, with production done by P2J. The song was first debuted when Sheeran brought Burna Boy out during his performance at Wembley Stadium in June 2022, where the pair performed the song.
The heartfelt ballad sees Sheeran enter a new genre of music, following Burna Boy’s lead on the slow and emotional afrobeats track. The lyrics see Burna and Sheeran singing about their relationships, asking lovers to accept them for who they are, as well as sticking with them in troubling and difficult times.
The music video for the song was uploaded via Burna Boy’s YouTube channel on the 8th July 2022. Directed by Roscoe, the video had a total of 52.1 million views as of the 28th October 2022.
The song has a Silver certification in the UK.
