“Doja” is British rapper Central Cee’s summer release, and managed to go viral on TikTok due to the lyrics in the chorus.

Self-released and written by Central Cee himself, “Doja” takes its name from American singer and rapper Doja Cat, and also samples American rapper Eve and her 2001 hit “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” featuring Gwen Stefani.

The lyrics have caused some controversy, particularly “how can I be homophobic? / My bitch is gay”. Many music critics believed that this was just a tactic to shock listeners, as the song itself only really details all the events and experiences Central Cee feels he has not experienced yet.

The music video was uploaded to Central Cee’s YouTube channel on the 21st July 2022. Directed by Cole Bennet, Central Cee was the first UK artist to have a video directed by Bennett. As of late August 2022, the video had a total of 34.1 million views.
