“BLUE” is the final track from Billie Eilish’s third album “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT”, which was released on the 17th May 2024 through Darkroom under Interscope Records.
“BLUE” is a atmospheric trap infused ballad that deals with the end of a break-up as well as analysing why a past partner may have behaved they way have, alluding to a cold upbringing.
The song is also a combination of two songs Eilish had previously written titled “True Blue” and “Born Blue”, with the first being one of the first ever songs her and brother Finneas had ever written after Eilish’s infamous “Ocean Eyes” song.
In the first verse of the first part of the song, Eilish references other lyrics and song titles from the same album.
The lyric video for “BLUE” was released on the 17th May 2024 via Eilish’s official YouTube.
