“American Honey” is the second single from American country trio Lady A and their second album “Need You Now“, which was released in 2010 through Capitol Nashville.
“American Honey” sees the narrator reminisce on her childhood and all its joys, wishing to no longer be an adult. However, the song received mainly negative reviews from critics, who deemed the track as a sad attempt at a look back at youth, deeming it to no be interesting enough to hold its own.
The music video was directed by Trey Fanjoy and filmed at Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch in 2020. The video shows the group looking back at their childhood, intertwined with shots of them dancing and in the grass. Uploaded to YouTube in February 2010, the video had a total of 16.4 million views and 82 thousand likes as of late February 2022.
