Santa Tell Me

“Santa Tell Me” was American singer Ariana Grande’s 2014 festive single. Released on the 24th November 2014, it was the fifth track from Grande’s first EP “Christmas Kisses”, which was released in 2013 with its last revamp in 2018. “Santa Tell Me” was written by Grande with Savan Kotecha and Ilya, with Ilya also producing the song.

“Santa Tell Me” is a festive pop song where Grande asks Santa Claus to not let her fall in love if the relationship won’t last for over a year. In a livestream on the 28th October 2014, Grande stated how she said that she did not want to do a Christmas song at first, but changed her mind, and how the track was her favourite Christmas song out of all the ones she had recorded so far. On the 13th November 2014, Grande announced the song’s released on Twitter, stating: “putting out a kewt Christmas song for u on nov 24th called Santa Tell Me! lil something for the holidays 🙂 so excited #10DaysTilSantaTellMe.”

The music video for “Santa Tell Me” was uploaded to Grande’s YouTube channel on the 13th December 2014 and was directed by Alfredo Flores & Jones Crow. The video shows Grande and her friends dressed up in festive outfits, while they dance together and give gifts in Grande’s home – along with a 2-minute-long blooper segment at the end of the video. As of mid-December 2020, the video has 218.7 million views and 2.5 million likes.
