Wishing Well

“Wishing Well” is the fourteenth track from the posthumous third album titled “Legends Never Die” from the late American rapper Juice WRLD, who sadly passed away on the 8th December 2019 at the age of 21. “Legends Never Die” was released on the 10th July 2020 through Grade A and Interscope Records. The song was written by Jarad Higgins (Juice WRLD), Darrel Jackson and Lukasz Gottwald (known as Dr. Luke), with productions done by Gottwald and Chopsquad DJ.

“Wishing Well” is a rap song detailing Juice WRLD’s struggles with fame, drugs and depression. The rapper reveals that when he tells friends he is “fine”, it is because he does not want his friends to worry. The rapper also references that infamous cover of “Killing Me Softly” by Lauryn Hill.

The music video for “Wishing Well” was uploaded to YouTube via Juice WRLD’s official channel on the 13th July 2020. Directed and animated by KDC Visions, the music video features an animated version of the rapper of throwing his feelings (represented by emojis) into a wishing well. As of early February 2021, the video has well over 126.7 million views and almost 2 million likes.
