“That’s Hilarious” is the second single to be released by Charlie Puth and his upcoming third studio album “Charlie”, which is due to be released through Atlantic Records later this year.
Written and produced by Puth, with songwriting credits also going to Jacob Kasher Hindlin, is an upbeat electric pop song about an ex-lover who treated Puth badly and is now returning to Puth after all the pain they caused him. On the 14th February after finishing the track, Puth took to his TikTok to explain the song’s meaning and the weight it holds for him:
“When I listen to it, it brings me back to the hardest time in my life when I couldn’t let somebody go. It makes me sad, which I never am on here, but I hope you love it. Don’t give your heart to someone who’s still got a broken one.”
The music video for “That’s Hilarious” debuted on the 4th May 2022 via Puth’s YouTube channel. Directed by Matthew Daniel Siskin, the video shows Puth sitting at a table staring at the camera in a white vest top while the room rotates. In 24 hours, the video had a total of over 770 thousand views.
