“Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik” is the fifth track off of the same titled album released by American hip-hop duo OutKast in 1994. The track is over five minutes long, filled with increments of smooth jazz, funky soul and a hip-hop beat.
The track was written and produced by “Organized Noize”, a production team from Atlanta, Georgia. Big Boi and Andre 3000 tell stories of “rolling steady in that Caddy but them 50 bottles go to go”, as well as “They ain’t gon get me, go something fo’ em”. The chorus insists for anyone who listens to “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik” to respect it and “don’t abuse it”. In an interview with the 411 Knowledge & Entertainment show in 1994, Big Boi tells the interviewer about the track: Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, you know what I’m sayin’? Cadillac describes the vibe that we on, and the music if for your trunk, cause that’s how we ride. So we just describe it like that.”
The official music video for the track was uploaded to OutKast’s official YouTube channel on the 26th April 2013, and has almost 2.4 million views and over 20,000 likes as of April 2019.
