“Soup for One” is the first track for the soundtrack for the 1982 film of the same name. Written and produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers of funk and disco duo CHIC. The track was released in 1982, alongside the film.
“Soup for One” is a post-disco and funk about loving someone but being on your own. The track’s intro has become infamous, due to its use in the 2000 hit song “Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by French house duo “Modjo”.
There is no official music video for “Soup for One”, but the official YouTube audio uploaded in July 2019 has well over 17 thousand views and 417 likes.
