“Secrets from a Girl (Who’s Seen it All)” is the sixth track on New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde and her third studio album “Solar Power“, which was released on the 20th August 2021 through Universal Records.
The slow psychedelic pop song grows more upbeat as the track progresses, with Lorde using the song as a way to let her younger self know everything will be okay.
Speaking to both Apple Music and Spotify about the song, Lorde spoke about the song’s inspiration both lyrically and sonically:
“This is me talking to my younger self trying to impart some of the things that I learned. It was a fun place to write from. To me it’s very Eurythmics meets Robyn. And then we got Robyn to do the incredible spoken part. She’s someone I have learned a huge amount from, through song. She really completed the experience.”

“I was listening to ‘Ribs’, and just thinking about who I was at that time of life. I was so apprehensive about what was to come. I took two of the chords from that song and reversed them. This is future me talking back to her sort of saying “It’s going to be okay.”
