Ride It

“Ride It” was the summer 2019 remix of English Jay Sean and his 2008 track of the same name. Released in July 2019, the remix was produced by Kosovan musician DJ Regard (real name Dardan Aliu) and quickly became a radio favourite around the globe.

Originally written by Jay Sean and Alan Sampson, the remix provides a much more upbeat and dance tone to the track, with lyrics stating what Jay Sean would like his lover to perform intimately. The remix was originally available from 2017, but thanks to social media app “Tik Tok” the track became a viral sensation right after its 2019 release. DJ Regard performed the track live with Jay Sean at the 2019 Jingle Bell Ball by Capital FM, in London in December 2019.

The music video was directed by Meji Alabi, and features a young man, finishing a shift at what looks like a detective’s office. His shift finishes, and the young man drives through the city, arresting drug users and using their drugs, as well as performing many illegal activities throughout the night, and dancing throughout. As of January 2020, the video has over 29.2 million views and over 335 thousand likes.
