“Pink Venom” is the pre-release single from South Korean girl group BLACKPINK and their second album “BORN PINK”, which was released on the 16th September 2022.
The Korean-Pink track is a fusion of hip-hop, rap and dance, while simultaneously incorporating traditional Korean instruments such as the gayageum, a pluck zither that contains 12 strings. The song is a completely different sound for the group, with a high focus on the singers various vocal abilities, and lyrically details BLACKPINK’s deadly (yet lovely) plan of capturing people in their “pink venom”.
The music video was record label YG Entertainment’s most expensive yet, and Seo Hyun-Seung directing the video. On YouTube, the video had reached 20 million views in only three hours, and as of the 15th September 2022 had a total of 297.9 million views.
