Story of Song
“In My Head” is a song about Jason imagining what he wants to happen with a female club-goer that he spots; he asks her to ignore all the other guys and go home with him. When asked about how he writes his songs, Derulo told USA Today: “I never write songs down – I feel like the pen dilutes the music. I get a concept, go into the booth and just start singing. I start off with a melody and then figure out the words to match.”
