“Heaven Is Here” is the second single from British indie/alternative group Florence + The Machine and their fifth yet-to-be-released album titled “Dance Fever“. The song was announced by Florence Welch on the 6th March 2022, then released the following day.
“Heaven Is Here” was produced by Welch, Jack Antonoff, Kid Harpoon and Glass Animals lead singer Dave Bayley and is only 1:51 seconds long. The track sees Welch use nature and magic/mystical metaphors to demonstrate the almost evil extents of what she would do to have a lover that she wants: “I went to the water, I drank every drop / I’ll turn your sea into a desert”, as well as in the final verse: “With my gun in my hand /You know I always get my man”.
On Instagram, Welch explained that “Heaven Is Here” was the first track that she wrote during lockdown and being unable to access a recording studio:
“I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury and grief was the first thing that came out […] it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind.”

The music video for “Heaven Is Here” was released via Florence + The Machine’s YouTube channel on the 7th March 2022, and is set in the same space as the first single “King“. The video was filmed in the Ukraine in November 2021 and was directed by Autumn de Wilde, who also directed “King” and photographed Welch for her single covers. In 3 days, the video received 50 thousand likes and over 754 thousand views.
