“Christmas in Harlem” is the 2010 hip-hop song by Kanye West, featuring rapper Cyhi the Prince and singer Teyana Taylor. The songwriting credits feature Kanye West and CyHi the Prynce, and also contains samples of Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing” and “Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)” and Shuggie Otis’ “Strawberry Letter 23”, leading both artists to also be credited for the writing. West, CyHi the Prynce and Taylor’s version was produced by Hit-Boy.

“Christmas in Harlem” is a hip-hop song that discusses love, Christmas and being grateful for the things that matter the most. Speaking to vibe.com, Hit-Boy spoke about the origins of the track:

“My boy Dala Roc hooked me up with Kanye’s cousin, Ricky, […] This was around the time when he started working on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I just kept sending him beats to try and get one on there. Then, on the night of Kanye’s New York release party, Ricky called saying Kanye wanted to use one of my beats for a Christmas song.”

There is no music video for “Christmas in Harlem”, however the video on Kayne West’s official YouTube channel has 142 thousand views and almost 3 thousand likes.
