Here’s a roundup of some of our favourite new tracks released this week:
“Man Of The Year” – Lorde
Lorde’s second single from her upcoming album “Virgin”, “Man Of The Year” sees Lorde explore their gender identity and the feeling of breaking free from gender norms and stereotypes.
“Walk Of Fame” – Miley Cyrus, Brittany Howard
Miley Cyrus brings back the 80s with this track from her latest album. The backing vocals are very reminiscent of Bronski Beat’s iconic “Smalltown Boy”, and we would go as far to say that this is the best song on the whole album.
“Nice To Each Other” – Olivia Dean
Olivia Dean never releases a bad song, that is a fact. “Nice To Each Other” is a smooth slow pop track that sees Dean express the importance of treating an ex lover kindly, rather than with venom. Her voice is always a joy to listen to.
“This Song” – Conan Gray
Conan Gray is back, we repeat, Conan Gray is back! “This Song” sees Gray unable to verbalise his feelings for his crush, resulting in a gorgeous, atmospheric and movie worthy track that Gray writes for his crush. Beautiful.
“Marianne” – Eli
If you haven’t heard of Eli yet, her latest release “Marianne” is single handedly bringing back 2000s era levels of yearning! A pop love ballad full of heartbreak, want and lust. It’s been doing the rounds on TikTok and rightly so.
