Kali Uchis released her latest album “Sincerely,” last week and it full to the brim with Uchi’s signature smooth tones. Uchi’s musical versatility can have you dancing around your house to bathing in the sun with your headphones on; blocking out the world. Her talent knows no bounds.

“Daggers!” is a slow and groovy R&B tune that is the prefect track to mark the beginning the way of a new week. Uchi’s voice is like butter – decadent, velvety and soothing.

Let this song about wishing for a better lover for your friends seep into your bones and help you feel ready to face the week ahead.

Irish alt-country singer CMAT released “Take A Sexy Picture of Me”, which will feature on her upcoming album “EURO-COUNTRY”.

CMAT is known for her unique voice and sound, and “Take A Sexy Picture of Me” is no different. Despite its upbeat sound, lyrically we see CMAT struggling with society’s obsession with defining women’s beauty standards. She mentions how she’s worried that as she ages, her lovers won’t find her as attractive. “Take A Sexy Picture of Me” acts as CMAT’s internal monologue while she battles to feel comfortable with herself.

Despite its serious subject matter, CMAT always manages to pair introspective lyrics and catchy melodies – and this track is no different.

Crush” by Ethel Cain

*The copyright for the cover art for the album “Inbred” by the artist Ethel Cain is believed to belong to the label Daughter of Cain Records, or the graphic artist(s).

Ethel Cain has been in the music scene for years, and yet there is no other artist around that can capture the atmosphere and feeling of a song like her. Cain’s ability to bottle up an emotion and have it be so clear both lyrically and melodically is unmatched. And “Crush” is a fan favourite for a reason.

In “Crush“, Cain is watching her crush from afar, learning all she can about him. She knows so little about him, yet so much simply from being a voyeur.

The song encapsulates that feeling you get when you start developing a crush on a friend when you’re a teenager – it’s full of yearning, witty one-liners (“I owe you a black eye and two kiss; tell me when you come and get them”) and listening to the song is an experience in itself. A perfect track, 10/10.

Some Protector by Role Model

*The copyright for the cover art for the album “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye)” by the artist ROLE MODEL is believed to belong to the label Interscope Records, or the graphic artist(s).

ROLE MODEL’s “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye)” is a gorgeous album, filled with dance inducing hits like “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out” to more slow paced songs country infused songs like “Some Protector”.

“Some Protector” sees ROLE MODEL question if his ex is being loved well enough by her new partner. It feels as if we’re listening to his inner thoughts, but with a little cheeky country melody.

A beautiful and clever song about heartbreak, but one will that stick with you throughout the week.

All I Ever Asked by Rachel Chinouriri

*The copyright for the cover art for the single “All I Ever Asked” by the artist Rachel Chinouriri is believed to belong to the label Parlophone Records, or the graphic artist(s).

Rachel Chinouriri is a gorgeous ray of sunshine and her music showcases that. “All I Ever Asked” was released back in 2022, but still remains one of Chinouriri’s most popular songs.

With it’s catchy chorus and brilliant production, you’ll find yourself humming the track when you least expect it.

Chinouriri’s talent knows no bounds, and her signature sound is unique and definitely one to keep on rotation.
